Easy and delicious homemade cereal bar which has only 5 ingredients is a great option for a quick and filling breakfast or an after school snack that kids will love!

Cereal bars are always a go-to option for a quick and filling snack, in our family. We keep our homes, bags and cars stocked up with them always. Whether I am in a hurry to leave the house in the morning or to go pick up my kiddo from day care in the evening or we are just quickly stepping out for something as a family, this cereal bar takes care of that last minute hunger that creeps up on you when you least expect it.

Now that V is growing up, he is mostly hungry when he gets back home from day care. He has an after noon snack there but it still leaves him a little hungry a few hours after. The usual crackers or just fruits is not cutting it these days and I have seen that it is best to give him something that fills him up, so he doesn’t keep eating something for the few hours that he is home before dinner. That spoils his appetite for dinner. Whenever I am conscious of it and make a good filling snack for him, he eats that and goes on about his usual thing of playing or coloring till dinner time comes.

Whenever I make these, they disappear in no time. V has it for his evening snack and demands that he wants it for his breakfast the next morning. This along with a glass of milk keep him going till lunchtime at school.

I made this 5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips Cereal Bar with Peanut Butter, Honey, Chocolate Chips, Flax Meal and Honey Bunches of Oats® cereal. Our favorite from the entire range of Honey Bunches of Oats® cereal is the original Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted Cereal – it is a wonderfully delicious combination of crispy flakes and crunchy oat clusters with a touch of honey and that is what I have used in this cereal bar. There are also several other flavors like Honey Bunches of Oats® with Almonds, Honey Bunches of Oats® with Real Strawberries and their Whole Grain line of cereal – check out the different flavors and let us know what your favorite one is.
