Navarathri Recipes

The Indian festival of Navarathri or Navratri is celebrated in the month of September-October for 10 days.
It is celebrated very differently in different parts of India. In Southern India, a display of dolls called golu is kept for the 10 days and daily offerings called Sundal is made for these days.
In Gujarat, the highlight of the festival is Garba and it is celebrated as Durga Puja in West Bengal.
The 10th day of the festival called Dusserah is also the main celebration in many other parts of the country.

Many people fast during this festival and eat only certain kinds of food and in general avoid onions, garlic, meat and alcohol.

You will find many sundal recipes here as well as traditional Indian festival recipes and some no-onion no-garlic recipes.
