Filling, nutritious and delicious smoothie that your kids will love and you will love giving your kids!
I know there are those mornings when you wake up just a little later than you intent to and then its just a mad scramble from then onwards. I plan when I do grocery shopping and I think before I go to bed, what to make for the little kiddo the next morning for breakfast. In spite of all that, nice hot breakfasts are sometimes really really far from what I can realistically achieve that morning.
A lot of times, its not just finding time to make breakfast, it is also the time to make sure the kiddo eats his breakfast. These days, he is so SLOW!! He sits and stares into space with a half bitten piece of fruit in his hand or talks a mile a minute that food just does not stand a chance to even get into his mouth with all the talking. I understand that this little brain is processing so much around him in the world and I love it that he observes so much and talks so much about it. But not so much when it comes to that interfering with his eating.
Smoothies are our saviors for days like these. He loves to help out by putting everything we need for the smoothie in the blender jar and also somehow manages to drink most of it without much day dreaming and talking involved. So, its definitely a win-win for me. Even though I try to go for seasonal produce for the most part, berries are always “in season” for us because its little V’s favorite fruits.
This Peanut Butter, Banana and Oat Smoothie and Banana, Avocado and Peanut Butter Smoothie are our other regular favorites! And if you don’t have a good blender, I suggest you get a good one like this Nutri Ninja Auto iQ. I have the bigger set and I always use these two small jars for smoothies and I cant imagine life without them.
