Ingredients

  • 2 cups cilantro
  • ¼ cup mint
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 2 Thai green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ lime
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Add the cilantro, mint, cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, salt and chillies to a small personal blender or food processor jar.
  • Add a tablespoon of water to get the blender started.
  • Grind to a fine paste.
  • Move to a serving bowl or storing jar, squeeze juice of half a lime into it and mix well.

Notes

Use a small blender jar like NutriBullet or the 8 oz jar of Vitamix for making this chutney. In a large regular sized blender the ingredients will get lost and wont grind well.
Tips for storing cilantro mint chutney
  • Glass jars are preferred to store this chutney. I love my weck jars for this.
  • Seal the jar tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • You can also freeze this chutney in the freezer, if absolutely needed. But, fresh chutney is always the best as the fresh flavors and the zing are the highlights of this chutney.
