A refreshing summer drink and everyone’s favorite lemonade gets a makeover with fresh blackberries for sweetness and color and some mint for a pop of freshness.
Summer took a long time to get here this year, but once it arrived, its been on full summer mode! This week, Seattle has been issued an excessive heat advisory and we have the air conditioning running at full blast inside the house.
What better way to celebrate (?) the heat and also stay cool in the process than a refreshing summer cooler. Though we love plain old lemonades here, we also love adding various different flavors to them.
Fruits are our favorite additives to lemonades and some that we have enjoyed this summer has been this Mango Iced Tea Lemonade and Peach Lemonade. This Blackberry Mint Lemonade is the newest addition to our lemonade party.
Not only does the blackberries add a much needed pop of color to the lemonade, but it also provides some natural sweetness without having to add any or much sugar or any sweetener of your choice. And it’s a bonus feeling of having had your fruit serving for the day!
So, what have you been making this summer to keep yourselves and your family cool? Are lemonades your go-to thing or are you more the ice cream and ice pops kinda person?
Do let me know, because we have something for everyone and I have a few ice cream recipes coming up for later this week as well!
